Aurora Networks, a Vistance Networks business and HUBER+SUHNER have partnered to support Vodafone Germany in developing a next-generation cable network using advanced Distributed Access Architecture and virtual CMTS technologies.
The collaboration focuses on deploying a Remote PHY solution designed to enable multi-gigabit services, long-term scalability and sustainable network expansion. Vodafone will leverage these technologies to enhance performance, reliability and customer experience across its cable infrastructure.
Distributed Access Architecture improves network efficiency by moving processing functions closer to end users within existing Hybrid Fiber Coax networks. This approach increases speed, reduces latency and strengthens overall service reliability.
Aurora Networks will provide its vCCAP Evo platform and QAM video solutions, delivering a flexible and software-driven alternative to traditional hardware-based CMTS systems. Running on commercial off-the-shelf servers, these solutions support centralised management, automated provisioning and improved capacity while reducing energy consumption, rack space and operational costs.
As the end-to-end DAA system integrator, Aurora Networks will guide Vodafone through network design, deployment and future expansion, drawing on decades of industry expertise.
HUBER+SUHNER will contribute next-generation Remote PHY devices with full software interoperability, helping modernise Vodafone’s infrastructure and ensure seamless integration across the network.
