Brentford FC deploys HPE networking technology to enhance matchday experience

Brentford Football Club has deployed HPE networking technology at Gtech Community Stadium to improve connectivity, support digital fan engagement and streamline matchday operations through AI-powered network management.

Brentford Football Club has partnered with HPE to enhance the digital experience for supporters and improve stadium operations through the deployment of intelligent wired and wireless networking technology.

The deployment provides connectivity across Gtech Community Stadium, including seating areas, concourses, hospitality facilities and the stadium perimeter.

The infrastructure also extends to the club’s training ground and corporate offices, providing a common networking platform across its operations.

During Premier League matches, thousands of supporters, employees, stewards and operational staff rely on the network to access digital services and support the running of matchday activities.

The HPE Self-Driving Network uses intelligent automation and AI-powered network operations to help maintain connectivity and optimise performance across the stadium.

For supporters, the infrastructure provides access to the Brentford FC app, club content, interactive activities and competitions.

The club is also exploring additional digital services, including loyalty initiatives and new opportunities for supporter engagement.

Beyond the fan experience, the network supports essential stadium functions such as digital ticketing, steward communications and health and safety processes.

Connected devices provide stewards with improved visibility as supporters enter the stadium, while wireless coverage across indoor and outdoor areas supports staff mobility and event management.

Mark Weeks, Networking Sales Director, UK & Ireland at HPE, said: “Modern stadiums are becoming increasingly digital environments, with technology supporting everything from how fans interact with their clubs to how teams manage a matchday. Our work with Brentford FC shows how a strong foundation can help clubs introduce new services and innovations over time.”

AI-powered network management

The deployment incorporates HPE Aruba Networking 9200 Series Campus Gateways, CX 6200M switches and wireless access points to provide connectivity across the club’s facilities.

HPE Aruba Networking Central provides centralised visibility and management across wired and wireless environments.

The platform uses Agentic AI operations capabilities to support intelligent automation, proactive network assurance and the identification of potential performance issues.

HPE Networking ClearPass Policy Manager provides role-based access control and policy enforcement for employees, partners and broadcasters.

Meanwhile, HPE Aruba Networking User Experience Insight continuously monitors connectivity and application performance to help identify issues affecting users.

Together, these technologies are designed to simplify network management while supporting the connectivity requirements of supporters and stadium personnel.

Fran Jones, Commercial Director at Brentford FC, said: “We are always looking at how technology can improve the experience for our fans, and connectivity is an important part of that. HPE has given us a reliable foundation across Gtech Community Stadium that supports both our supporters and our teams. It also gives us the flexibility to explore new digital experiences as we continue to evolve the matchday.”

The deployment provides Brentford FC with a networking infrastructure designed to support current stadium operations while enabling the introduction of additional digital services.

As the club develops its approach to fan engagement, the platform will provide the connectivity and network management capabilities needed to support new applications and experiences.
